PARLIAMENT OF THE ARTS - What colors does democracy appear in? What rhythm does she move in? How many balls can she juggle?
87 artists will approach these questions in a performative parliamentary session on March 6th at 6 p.m. in the chairs of the citizens' representatives. Prompted by the current budget negotiations and the current difficult financial conditions in which the independent cultural scene has to operate, as well as the debate about the systemic relevance of the arts in recent years, delegates from the artists' associations wrote a manifesto that acts as a "script" for this political action .
In an interdisciplinary choreography, the manifesto on the current state of the arts is brought to life through dance, music, poetry, acrobatics and every other discipline imaginable. In the spirit of a political dialogue, demands as well as offers are formed from the artistic contributions, which involve the audience and encourage discussion. Culture expresses itself as an invitation to democratic education, to think, to empathize and to participate.
With the dancers from Of Curious Nature, steptext is committed to being part of this cultural-political campaign and cordially invites you to join us.
