Dancing in the Streets 2024

DANCING IN THE STREETS 2024

Dance in all its facets, on the stage at the market square, free and outdoors.

Summer in Motion: This year, the popular dance festival "Dancing in the Streets" will take place once again, transforming Bremen's market square into an open-air dance floor.

On the outdoor stage, many of those who make Bremen one of the most versatile dance cities will come together. Alongside the company Of Curious Nature, other dancers from the Hanseatic city and its surroundings will participate. With a range from traditional dances of various cultural associations to a diversity of contemporary dance styles, participants of all generations have delighted audiences in previous years. This year will be no different.

Dance fans and city strollers can look forward to an additional special new highlight this time: multiple groups featuring diverse dance styles and cultures will come together under the direction of professional dancer Leila Bakhtali to present a joint choreography that will have its premiere at Dancing in the Streets. In a fusion of styles, they will set a strong, distinctively Bremen signal for unity in a diverse community.

The acts on the open-air stage will begin with a behind-the-scenes look, featuring a public training session by the professionals from Of Curious Nature. Following this, the dance schools and various dance groups from the city will showcase the breadth of their work. Also making a return is the popular walking act Gassi Gäng.

With Dancing in the Streets, TanzRAUM Nord and steptext dance project, in cooperation with the Landesverband TanzSzene Bremen, demonstrate how dance can be integrated into everyday life and every place, sensually enriching our living environments. The audience stops or sits, watches and enjoys, or moves on after a few moments, more uplifted than before.
