Dance Spain 2024

In autumn, steptext dance project and the Instituto Cervantes will once again present Spain's contemporary dance scene on the stages of the Schwankhalle. In 2024, the audience can look forward to a focus on aesthetic diversity of styles, featuring expressive dialogues between live musicians and dancers. For "Toná," a multifaceted friction will arise between the exceptional dancer Luz Arcas (La Phármaco) and two Flamenco musicians. Aurora Bauza & Pere Jou will choreograph voices and light as if we were at the beginning of time and space. Newcomer Aleix Martinez Juan, a long-time dancer with the Hamburg Ballet, will present his exploration of the Spanish painter Miró. Four dancers and a musician will celebrate the art of reduction and the composition of the moment with live percussion and dance.
